Our programming for Black History Month stands as a beacon of cultural celebration and musical excellence.
In 2022, Waveland's groundbreaking virtual Black History Month celebration shone a spotlight on 23 local Black musicians for Black History Month, celebrating Toronto's vibrant music scene on Happin. Artists like Sammy Jackson, Michelle Hopkins, Gary Beals, and KHAY graced our virtual stage. The event celebrated music and also uplifted Black-owned businesses through artist-curated interviews.
Later transitioning seamlessly from virtual to in-person events, we continued to bring art, culture, and community together.
